Rams have given up last sign of hope for Odell Beckham Jr. return

In case Los Angeles Rams needed further confirmation that wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. wasn’t returning, the team provided even more evidence.

The Los Angeles Rams are having one of the worst Super Bowl title defenses in recent memory. After beating the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20 in Super Bowl 56, there was talk throughout the offseason about the team bringing wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. back after he tore his ACL in the first half of the big game. As time passed, a reunion seemed increasingly unlikely, especially when Beckham publicly claimed the team never made him an offer.

With the team sitting well out of playoff contention with a 3-8 record, there was further evidence that a reunion between the Rams and Beckham will not be happening. According to Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times, Beckham’s nameplate was removed from his locker.

It was reported back in September that the team still kept Beckham’s locker in place in the event he were to re-sign with the team.

The Rams are having a disastrous 2022 season. While they did bring in big names like wide receiver Allen Robinson and linebacker Bobby Wagner, the team has not lived up to the hype. Their offensive line was at a huge disadvantage with tackle Andrew Whitworth retired. Not only that, but they dealt with numerous injuries. Quarterback Matthew Stafford is still in concussion protocol entering Week 13, and wideout Cooper Kupp is sidelined due to a high ankle sprain.

In regards to Beckham, he is scheduled to go on visits with three teams in the next week. He’s meeting with the New York Giants, the team that selected him in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft, on Thursday, Dec. 1. Then on Friday, Dec. 2, Beckham will visit with the Buffalo Bills. Finally, Beckham will meet with the Dallas Cowboys on Monday, Dec. 5.

These three teams will be the ones to watch to see if they will be successful in signing Beckham. As for the Rams, it feels as though a reunion won’t happen.
