The latest NFL rumors feature a sad post-Tom Brady landscape for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and absolute shenanigans coming from Aaron Rodgers’ world over in his native California.

With the legal tampering period opening in less than 24 hours, NFL rumors were coming in hot during the second weekend in March, alright.

All eyes are on the clock because once it hits 12:00 p.m. ET on Monday, March 13, pending free agents can speak with and potentially sign with other teams, informally, of course. Players who were already free agents before the start of the new league year may have linked up somewhere else. Look no further than Derek Carr leaving the Las Vegas Raiders for the New Orleans Saints…

With spring right around the corner, let’s sink our teeth into this latest, tasty batch of NFL rumors.

NFL rumors: Lions have some serious competition for Jamaal Williams

Last year saw Jamaal Williams lead the league in rushing touchdowns with 17. The former Green Bay Packers back experienced a career renaissance playing for Dan Campbell, man, on the Detroit Lions. Although the Lions would love to bring him back in his free agency. Tyler Dunne of Go Long reported teams like the Buffalo Bills, the Cincinnati Bengals and the New York Jets have interest.

All four clubs are playoff-caliber, with the Bengals and Bills in the upper echelon of the AFC with the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs. New York already has Breece Hall, but he is coming off a major injury. Cincinnati could move off Joe Mixon, so the Bengals’ interest in Williams makes sense as well. As for Buffalo, the Bills must do something to get better at running.

Even though they have used precious draft capital previously on the likes of James Cook, Zack Moss and Devin Singletary, Buffalo tends to use quarterback Josh Allen on every single play, pass or run. The Bills even traded for Nyheim Hines last season, but even he could not help bring balance to their rushing attack. By signing Williams in free agency, the Bills could add a bell-cow.

One way or another, Williams is about to be getting paid, so the Lions better be ready to pay him.
