Pels’ Zion Williamson assures to be back Monday after missing games from foot contusion
New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson assures that he’ll be back Monday against the Golden State Warriors.
“As of now I can say I’m definitely playing Monday,” Williamson said, per ESPN’s Andrew Lopez. “I don’t see why I wouldn’t at this point. Had enough time off it. The pain seems to be gone at this point.”
Williamson has missed three-straight games for New Orleans after dealing against a right foot contusion that he sustained last week vs. Houston Rockets.
The foot was the one he fractured last summer of 2021, which forced him to miss the entirety of the 2021-22 campaign.
“It was a moment where I was kind of scared like, ‘Man, I ain’t trying to go through this again. I just went through it,’” Williamson continued. “But the scans were positive outside of the bruise.”
Williamson, 22, is averaging 23.5 markers, 6.4 boards, 3.9 dimes in 56.5 percent shooting this season.
