New Movies & Shows To Stream This Weekend: Outer Banks, Disclaimer, Sweetpea and More
It’s been a year and a half since season three of Netflix’s Outer Banks, and a lot has happened between the Pogues and the Kooks since then. The first half of the new season of the series is out now, and in it, our adventurers are headed on a new mission to find pirate treasure. Cate Blanchett stars as a woman looking for the person who’s trying to expose her most intimate secrets in the thriller Disclaimer on Apple TV+, and Ella Purnell is a woman whose deep, dark secret is that she’s a killer in the new Starz series Sweetpea.
New on Netflix October 10: Outer Banks (Season 4)
This season on Outer Banks, John B. (Chase Stokes) and the rest of the Pogues have returned home to the OBX in hopes of a fresh start after last season’s adventure when they found the lost city of El Dorado. Happy to get a fresh start and rebuild with their own version of Poguelandia 2.0, their vision for a peaceful utopian commune is disrupted when a man claiming to have a map to Blackbeard’s ship and a treasure that remains on board hires them to find it.
New on Apple TV+ October 11: Disclaimer
Cate Blanchett stars in the new AppleTV+ series Disclaimer, a thriller written and directed by Alfonso Cuarón. Blanchett stars as an investigative journalist who exposes other people’s misdeeds, but when she receives a mysterious copy of a novel that reveals her own dark secrets, she attempts to find out who wrote it and why. New episodes of Disclaimer will arrive weekly.
New on Starz October 10: Sweetpea
Billed as a “coming-of-rage” show, Starz’ Sweetpea stars Ella Purnell as a mild-mannered young woman named Rhiannon Lewis who is pushed to the brink one day and kills someone. Unfortunately for the people around her, she realizes that maybe this is what her life’s been missing all along. The first episode of Sweetpea had a sneak premiere on Thursday this week, but future episodes will air on Starz every Friday for six weeks.
