Miami Dolphins (+3) over HOUSTON TEXANS
This game is not being played in 40-degree temperatures, so we don’t have to worry about the Dolphins becoming softer than Charmin.
Miami needs a win to stay in playoff contention and its offense is clicking, which makes it a live underdog in Houston.
We’re also factoring in that the Texans are hard to trust right now behind inconsistent second-year QB C.J. Stroud.
Houston’s past five games include losses to the Jets and Titans, blowing a big lead vs. the Lions and barely beating the Jaguars in Week 13.
The Texans also have not played well at home, going 4-2 with wins coming by six, four and twice by three points.
This feels like a tight game that will come down to a field goal, and we’ll take the underdog we believe can win outright.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+3) over LOS ANGELES CHARGERS
Both teams are banged up, but we believe the Buccaneers’ offense can keep this one close, if not outright win.
The Chargers have overachieved this season, but they’re down RB J.K. Dobbins and TE Will Dissly, star rookie Ladd McConkey missed last week with an injury and, oh, Justin Herbert is a bit dinged up.
Los Angeles is also in a bit of an offensive funk, having scored just 17 points in each of its past two games.
Betting on the NFL?
Tampa Bay, meanwhile, has scored at least 20 in all but one game.
The Bucs’ defense is a concern, but the hope is their offense can make enough plays.
The Chargers’ once-vaunted defense has also regressed recently while playing tougher teams.
LAST WEEK: 0-2. Falcons (L), Saints (L).
SEASON: 10-18.
