New York Giants NFL power rankings round-up going into Week 13
The New York Giants defeated the New England Patriots, 10-7, at MetLife Stadium on Sunday afternoon to improve their record to 4-8 on the season.
It wasn’t a particularly impressive win but it’s always better to win ugly than lose pretty, and the Giants needed the back-to-back victories to keep their extremely thin playoff hopes alive.
It’s almost surreal to even be typing that at this point in the season.
As we enter Week 13, here’s a look at where the 4-8 Giants place in a multitude of power rankings.

Seems like barely five minutes ago when they would barely let Tommy DeVito throw. All of a sudden, he’s the first undrafted rookie in the common-draft era (since 1967) to have a passer rating of at least 100.0 in consecutive starts. Certainly didn’t hurt that fellow frosh WR Jalin Hyatt got his most targets (6) of the season.

The Giants won their second straight as they outlasted the New England Patriots. A missed field goal at the end of the game prevented MetLife fans from suffering through overtime. Wait until it comes time to try and re-sign Tommy DeVito.

Dalton Miller, Pro Football Network:
The Giants had another uninspiring day at the office, but they came away with their fourth win of the 2023 NFL season despite scoring just 10 points.
On the surface, Tommy DeVito’s 17-of-25 day for 191 yards and a touchdown is impressive; he’s also taking drive-killing sacks at a high rate.

The Giants have found an offensive spark with rookie gamer Tommy DeVito at QB, leaning a lot more on the running game and defense to win battles of attrition. Whatever the coaching controversy might be with Brian Daboll, there’s no quit in the team.

Tommy DeVito has played well the past two weeks. He looked horrible in his first two games but it has been a complete turnaround since. That probably says something about Brian Daboll’s ability as an offensive coach. If DeVito continues to play well he could parlay this stretch into a long career as a backup, and if it’s good enough maybe even get another shot to start.

Tommy DeVito has officially cost the Giants a shot at a top-two pick. So, this season could, in fact, get worse for Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen.
