New York Giants hire Carmen Bricillo as next offensive line coach
The New York Giants have wasted little time filling their offensive line coach vacancy. The team announced it is hiring former Las Vegas Raiders offensive line coach Carmen Bricillo to replace the recently fired Bobby Johnson.
Bricillo, 47, was the Raiders’ offensive line coach the past two seasons after spending the previous three seasons with the New England Patriots, where he worked his way up from a coaching assistant to offensive line coach.
The Raiders’ offensive line has progressively improved under Bricillo. The Raiders allowed just 40 sacks this past season, tied for 12th-fewest in the NFL.
The Giants allowed 85 sacks in 2023, the most in the league since the 1986 Philadelphia Eagles.

Bricillo comes from the same coaching tree as Giants head coach Brian Daboll (Bill Belichick) and is likely more in tune to Daboll’s style than Johnson was. He also spent one season as an assistant under Patriots legendary offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia.
