New York Giants’ Boogie Basham carted off during Tuesday’s practice

Editor’s note: Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reported after practice that Basham, like Joshua Ezeudu earlier this week, was dealing with heat-related issues.

New York Giants linebacker Boogie Basham was carted off the field and into the locker room during Tuesday’s joint practice with the Detroit Lions.

At the time Basham was removed from the field, the two teams were roughly 25 minutes away from practice being called due to fights.

The nature of the injury was not known.

Basham, a former second-round pick of the Buffalo Bills out of Wake Forest in 2021, is listed as defensive end Brian Burns’ primary backup on the team’s unofficial depth chart, which was released this week.

Basham was traded to the Giants from Buffalo last August along with a 2025 seventh-round pick in exchange for a 2025 sixth-rounder.

In 2023, Basham played in 13 games for the Giants and recorded a total of 11 tackles.
