The New York Giants (2-11) are currently 16-point underdogs to the visiting Baltimore Ravens (8-5) for this Sunday afternoon’s game at MetLife Stadium.
The line has risen 1.5 points since opening earlier this week at 14.5 points.
The over/under, which opened at 43.5 total points, down slightly to 43, and the moneyline is currently a prohibitive Ravens -1400, Giants +800, per BetMGM.
The point spread is the largest of the season for both teams. The Giants have been underdogs for every game this season with the exception of their Week 10 game against Carolina in Munich, in which they were 6-point favorites and lost by three in overtime.
The Ravens have not been underdogs all year. The largest spread for the Ravens this season has been 9 points — twice. They were 9-point favorites over Las Vegas in Week 2 and lost outright, 26-23. They were 9-point favorites again in Week 9 versus Denver and won comfortably, 41-10.
The Ravens are 8-5 versus the spread. The Giants are 2-11.
This is the largest point spread in a Giants game since Week 10 of last year against the Cowboys in Dallas (17.5), a game they lost, 49-16.
It’s believed to be the largest amount of points the Giants have been underdogs by at home in the last 35 years (point spreads could not be accurately verified before 1990).
The Giants have been 13-point underdogs twice since 1990: 12/29/07: 13-point underdog vs. New England (lost 38-35) and 12/13/98: 13-point underdog vs. Denver (won 20-16).
