New York ex-Gov. David Paterson attacked by youngsters on Upper East Side in Manhattan
Former New York Gov. David Paterson and his stepson were attacked by a trio of young suspects while walking their dog on the Upper East Side on Friday night, his spokesperson and law enforcement sources said.
Paterson, 70, and his wife’s 20-year-old son encountered a group of three young men, possibly teens, on Second Avenue near East 96th Street shortly before 9 p.m., the sources said.
The group of men “had a previous interaction with his stepson,” Paterson’s spokesperson Sean Darcy told The Post.
“They both suffered some injuries but were able to fight off their attackers.”
The ex-governor and the young man sustained injuries to their face. Sources said his stepson’s injuries were more severe.
They were taken to a local hospital to be treated, sources said.
No arrests were made as of late Friday.
