NBA L2M: Offensive foul on Klay Thompson’s hard screen vs Isaac Okoro in Warriors win vs Cavs
The NBA’s NBA’s Last Two Minute Report on Saturday suggests that Klay Thompson should have been called for an offensive foul against Isaac Okoro.
The missed foul call greatly benefitted the Golden State Warriors to eventually dust off the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday. Thompson gave a hard screen for Stephen Curry, who drilled a crucial three-pointer at the top of the key to lift the Dubs for a four-point game late in the fourth, 103-99.
“Thompson (GSW) does not give Okoro (CLE) the time or distance to avoid the contact and turns his shoulder to deliver contact, which dislodges Okoro during the pick,” the NBA detailed.
The Warriors went on to win the game, thanks to the 40-point eruption of Curry.
In postgame, J.B. Bickerstaff expressed his dissatisfaction with how the referees handled the game.
The non-call only serves as the second time that the Warriors have won a clutch matchup. Last Monday, Thompson also dodged a whistle upon his contact against Kevin Huerter, who attempted a game-tying three-point attempt for the Sacramento Kings.
The NBA’s L2M report also announced that the All-Star swingman should have been called for a foul.
The defending champs could perhaps send their regards on the officials, as they are now improving with a 5-7 record to start the season.
