NBA confirms Grizzlies and Lakers played over extra minute in Friday’s game
In a revelation by Jonah Dylan of Memphis Commercial Appeal, it has been confirmed by the NBA that the Memphis Grizzlies and Los Angeles Lakers inadvertently played an additional 1 minute and 6 seconds during Friday night’s game.
During the third quarter of the game, a shot clock violation led to a stoppage at 1:14 on the clock, but when the shot clock was reset, the game clock was erroneously reset from 1:14 to 2:20, leading to the extended playtime, unnoticed by both teams and officials.
