Luka Modric believes that Real Madrid team-mate Kylian Mbappe has the potential to claim multiple Ballon d’Or titles at Los Blancos.

After leaving Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer last summer, Mbappe joined Real Madrid in what was the most talked-about signing of the transfer window.

Despite experiencing some initial struggles, he has found his form and is now excelling for the Spanish giants.

The 25-year-old has already netted 31 goals across all competitions for Madrid, with an impressive tally of 10 goals in his last nine LaLiga outings.

Mbappe is currently on international duty with the France national team as they look to overturn a 2-0 deficit in their Nations League quarter-final clash against Modric’s Croatia.

The two club team-mates will go head-to-head in tonight’s decisive second leg, with a place in the finals at stake.

Ahead of the match, Modric shared his admiration for Mbappe and predicted that he could soon be recognised as the world’s best player.

“On Kylian as a footballer, there is nothing more to say – he is one of the best players in the world,” Modric told Telefoot.

“He has so many abilities and honestly, it is something that I have rarely seen. But what impresses me the most about him is his personality. He is an incredible boy, very humble, always ready to crack a joke, to help his teammates. He is calm.

“Kylian, from the outside, you can say that it hasn’t been his best season but he still has over 30 goals. Imagine if he raises his level!

“Kylian is an incredible talent, one of the best that I have seen but as I said, what impresses me most about him is his personality because he really is an incredible boy.

“If Kylian continues to do things like this, help Real Madrid like he’s doing I’m sure he will be one of the favourites to win not one but a few Ballon d’Or.”
