Mikal Bridges on Monty Williams: “He’s going to get through it”

Following the recent dismissal of Monty Williams as head coach of the Suns, former Phoenix player Mikal Bridges expressed his support for Williams, emphasizing his belief in the coach’s abilities.

Williams, who was named Coach of the Year and led the Suns to the 2021 NBA Finals, was let go after the team’s second-round playoff exit at the hands of the Nuggets.

“He’s going to get through it,” Bridges remarked about Williams, via Duane Rankin of azcentral. Bridges acknowledged Williams’ coaching prowess and suggested that he likely understands the circumstances surrounding his departure. Despite not having a definitive answer to the situation, Bridges asserted, “Me personally, I say Monty is not the problem, but who am I?”

Williams, who has proven himself as a successful coach, is now being linked to various teams that have recently parted ways with their head coaches, including the Bucks and 76ers.
