Michael Thomas deleted Tweet appears to call out Saints medical staff

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas seemingly called out the team’s medical staff in recently deleted tweets.

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas recorded over 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first four seasons with team. But recently, Thomas has dealt with injuries, most notably missing the 2021 season with an ankle injury. He also played in just three games this past season due to a foot injury.

Recently, it appears that Thomas took a shot at NFL and Saints medical teams.

This past week, former Philadelphia Eagles safety Chris Maragos was awarded $43.5 million in damages after he sued for medical malpractice due to a career-ending knee injury. Maragos sued Dr. James Bradley and Rothman Orthopedics, the latter of whom provides services to Eagles players, for the damages. Maragos was initially diagnosed with a PCL tear, but he was actually dealing with a meniscus tear.

Thomas responded to a tweet from CNN announcing the news, and took a shot at the NFL medical process. The deleted tweet can be seen at this link.

Again, the tweets are currently deleted.

In 2020, Thomas dealt with an ankle sprain that limited him to just seven games played. In 2021, Thomas underwent ankle surgery months before the start of the season, but his rehabilitation process didn’t go as expected. Thomas announced that November that he would not be able to return in time for the season due to the new issues.

Thomas was active for the first three games of New Orleans’ 2022 season, and looked on pace to have a strong year. He did, after all, catch 16-of-22 targets for 171 yards and three touchdowns. But then, he was sidelined due to a toe injury, and underwent surgery midway through the season and placed on injured reserve.

Thomas is entering his eighth year with the Saints, and is under contract for two more seasons with the team.
