Whoopi Goldberg is loving the view at the 2025 Met Gala.
Four years after the Sister Act actress graced the steps at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, she made her grand return for this year’s “Tailoring Black Style” themed event.
For her rare Met appearance, Whoopi arrived in a black and white tuxedo-inspired gown with a collared button-down shirt and tie peaking out. The look featured buttons along the entire ensemble with a patterned coat falling from her shoulders, which she also accessorized with a black top hat featuring a net veil. For her hair, the 69-year-old—whose ensemble followed the evening’s dress code “Tailored For You” beautifully—opted for black locs. (See all the stars at the gala here.)
The View host’s lookis a totally different vibe from the six-layer, billowing purple Valentino couture gown she wore at the 2021 Met Gala.
She admitted that she was taken aback by Valentino designer Pierpaolo Piccioli‘s request to dress her for the evening’s theme, “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.”
“I see you as many women and many women need to know that couture is in them,” Whoopi recalled on The View after the event of her conversation with Pierpaolo. “They don’t get into couture, couture is in them.”
