Meghan Markle ‘should have warned’ Harry over drug revelations: expert
Meghan Markle “should have warned” her husband Prince Harry over his candid drug revelations, according to a royal expert.
Page Six exclusively revealed that Harry may find himself with his back against the wall — and stripped of his rights to live in the US — over being too honest about his past drug use.
But according to royal biographer Angela Levin, Markle should have told her husband about the consequences his admissions may have.
“I don’t understand why his wife didn’t warn him,” she told Dan Wootton on GB News.
“He talked to her about everything he was going to say. She is in charge as we both know.”
“She didn’t say ‘be careful, because if you talk too much about the drugs, you might be in trouble,’” Levin said, adding that she’s “concerned” about “why she left him alone on this.”
“The mental health guru who was talking to him should have said beforehand, ‘don’t talk about the drugs,’” the royal expert went on. “He made his life extremely difficult.”
The Duke of Sussex revealed in his protocol-shattering memoir “Spare” that he “drank heavily,” used cocaine, and smoked weed earlier on in his life.
While the exiled royal, 38, claimed he only used coke as a teen, he also admitted to experimenting with psychedelics well into his adulthood — considering hallucinogenic drugs a “fundamental” part of his life.
“It was the cleaning of the windscreen, the removal of life’s filters — these layers of filters — it removed it all for me and brought me a sense of relaxation, relief, comfort, a lightness that I managed to hold back for a period of time,” he said during an online chat with trauma expert Gabor Maté earlier this month.
“I started doing it recreationally and then started to realize how good it was for me.”
While he’s never disclosed whether he’s battled serious drug issues in his life, Harry was previously sent to a rehab center at age 17 by his father, King Charles, after admitting to smoking marijuana.
While it’s a gray area over whether or not Harry’s candid admission could find him in hot water, experts have shared their thoughts both for and against the prince’s visa being under scrutiny.
A top immigration attorney previously told Page Six that should Harry face any legal issues, the Duchess of Sussex could opt to sponsor her husband.
