Mark Daigneault praises Darius Bazley’s professionalism
Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault talked about Darius Bazley’s stay ready mindset after Friday’s 124-110 road win vs. the Chicago Bulls (averaging 10.0 PPG/4.0 RPG/1.0 APG/2.0 SPG/41.7% FG/81.8% FT in last two games).
(via Bally Sports Southwest):
“He obviously played great and he’s a huge part of why we won the game, but I think bigger picture for him to have kinda the year he’s had in terms of being in and out, and his role fluctuating and recently taking a string of DNP’s. I just think it’s a really powerful signal when somebody like him who has every reason to sulk or complain with the amount of minutes he’s played in the past, just keeps himself ready, waits for his next opportunity, and then goes in there and performs like he did last night and tonight. He deserves a lot of credit and it’s a powerful signal to the rest of the group, a form of leadership. I admire how he’s handled this.”
