Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne sets out expectations for Erling Haaland
Kevin De Bruyne has been discussing now Manchester City teammate, Erling Haaland.
Haaland is the Sky Blues’ first major signing of the summer window, being brought in from Borussia Dortmund where he came close to scoring a goal a game.
City met the £51m release clause in Haaland’s contract and he will join Kevin De Bruyne as the club’s highest-paid player on around £400,000 a week.
Now, De Bruyne has been discussing Haaland whilst away on international duty with Belgium/
Speaking to HLN, KDB outlined his hopes that Haaland will help Manchester City grow as a team and his expectations that he will score 20-25 goals a season for the Sky Blues.
He told HLN : ” Erling Haaland is a top striker. His move should help us to grow as a team. “Everybody expects a lot. They’ve always been looking for a number 9, but I think it’ll be good to have that striker that maybe scores 20-25 goals a season.”

Though unproven in the Premier League, 20-25 goals in a season does not seem that unrealistic for Haaland.
The 21-year-old has a sensational goal-scoring record for every team he has played for.
At Borussia Dortmund, for example, he scored 86 goals and provided 23 assists in just 89 outings.
Of course, the goals are shared around more at City and players arriving from the Bundesliga in recent years have struggled to adapt to the Premier League.
But, given the generation-defining talent Haaland clearly is, he should not be affected by the ‘Bundesliga tax’, especially when he has Kevin De Bruyne setting him up on a regular basis.
