Looks like Seahawks took a page from Russell Wilson’s jet lag wristband

The Seahawks appear entirely unimpacted by jet lag, perhaps they took some notes from Russell Wilson’s method for avoiding it?

The Seattle Seahawks are officially in Munich, Germany, ready to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers early Sunday morning (for American viewers).

Sara Walsh Tweeted a video of the Seahawks clearly full of energy with the clever caption suggesting that they’re not facing any jet lag factors holding them back.

It has us wondering, did they take a play from Russell Wilson’s method for fighting jet lag?

If you don’t remember, here was what Wilson said about how he burned time on the flight over to London a few weeks ago:

The reception to the quote was memes and jokes. It was another chapter in the corny Russell Wilson book.

Since he’s immune from things that impact us mortal humans like jet lag and generally being tired, only one thing is holding Wilson back from being a truly elite quarterback like Geno Smith… A wristband.

Jet lag is funny but an actual battle for teams to fight

The Wilson comments earlier this season have made jet lag a funny topic of conversation for these European games, of which there were several this season for the NFL. Four games have already been played in Europe this year, with a fifth in Munich this weekend, the first-ever regular-season NFL game in Germany.

Despite the jokes, teams have gone to extreme lengths to avoid jet lag. The Saints footed their own bill to come a week before their London game against the Minnesota Vikings to adjust to the time zone earlier. They lost that game, nearly sending it to overtime with a last-second field goal that was missed.

For the Seahawks, the travel is even tougher. They are three hours behind the Bucs and nine behind Germany, so the move to Munich is drastic. While some teams are able to split the travel with an east coast game the week before the Europe game, the Seahawks played in Arizona last week.

We’ll see if that ends up being a factor for this weekend’s game, the final in the 2022 Europe series.
