LeBron James dealing with serious foot issue
Lakers superstar LeBron James broke the NBA all-time scoring record earlier this week as he scored 38 points against the Thunder.
In this game, as well for the last several weeks, the four-time NBA champion has been playing with a foot injury, NBA insider Chris Haynes revealed on #thisleague UNCUT podcast.
According to his sources, James is really struggling with the foot at times. The severity of the injury varies, depending on the in-game situations such as how he plants the foot.
Haynes reports that it is thought that LeBron might have to play through the injury for the rest of the season.
Via Peter Dewey of Lakers Daily:
“I was told that Tuesday game, the record breaking game, I was told LeBron was severely struggling with that foot injury he has,” Haynes said. “It’s something that’s been nagging him for a few weeks already. It gets to points where it just gets unbearable, and he plays through it, and he was really, people that talked to me said he was really struggling with that foot.
“The way it was explained to me is that – sometimes it flares up, different sides of his foot depending on, I guess the cut – the way that he plants certain times. The way it’s explained to me is that that might be something that lingers all season long, but it reached the dire point.”
This season James is averaging 30.2 points, 8.5 rebounds and 7 assists in 36.4 minutes per game.
