Leaks of Israeli plans to strike Iran, Letters

The Issue: The leaking of classified US documents detailing an Israeli retaliation against Iran.

The leak that came out of the Biden-Harris administration about Israel’s plan to retaliate against Iran is typical of President Biden’s utterly incompetent foreign policy (“Sabotaging an Ally,” Editorial, Oct. 22).

I am sure that the investigation will yield no results. The administration will hope that it fades over time.
Most of the Biden apparatus is filled with Obama holdovers who, for whatever incomprehensible reason, have been pro-Iran appeasement for years. Biden inherited a world at peace and in a little under four years, through weakness and stupidity, has set the world on fire.

Certain top-secret US documents describing Israel’s preparations for a retaliatory strike on Iran were posted on Telegram.

Most of the coverage I’ve seen of this has been in The Post. Why is a shocking betrayal of a staunch ally not worthy of other media outlets?

Because, I suspect, it is not detrimental to former President Donald Trump’s campaign, and it could be very detrimental to the Biden-Harris administration. October surprise? Not quite, it’s just Hunter’s laptop: déjà vu all over again.

Instead of accusing Mayor Adams of being an agent of a foreign country, the Biden administration needs to immediately find and apprehend the person who disclosed top-secret classified information relating to

Israel’s impending retaliation on Iran by posting the documents on Telegram.

Failing to find the perpetrator promptly would confirm that our intelligence community has once again been infiltrated.

There is a non-zero chance that the leaking of classified documents concerning Israel’s plan of attack was an attempt to delay a retaliatory strike on Iran until after the November election.

Kudos to Sen. John Barrasso for hitting the nail on the head about the Biden-Harris administration’s failed policies of appeasement toward Iran (“Answering Iran,” PostOpinion, Oct. 23).

Instead, Biden-Harris have had officials like Ariane Tabatabai in high posts in our national-security organizations, and sympathizers like Rob Malley in our diplomatic corps.

Tabatabai has been accused by some outlets of possibly being the one who leaked Israel’s plan of attack, and Malley had to be sacked for mishandling classified documents. We need to return to a policy of peace through strength.

The leak proves that Biden-Harris administration has completely lost control.

The Issue: The possible parole of a killer who fatally shot an NYPD cop in the head in Brooklyn.

I sincerely hope that the members of the Parole Board will consider how much Officer Robert Venable suffered on the night that he was murdered by Francisco Rodriguez (“Daughter’s fury,” Oct. 20).

I also hope that they will think about how much his family has suffered since his death and how much greater they will suffer if his killer is released.

The concept of punishment and retribution for taking the life of a cop in a cold-blooded murder is no longer “in vogue.”

These days, it seems everyone is entitled to multiple chances, no matter the carnage they’ve left behind.
