Lea Michele, 36, showed off her casual summer style when she was photographed heading to the August Wilson Theatre in New York City, NY over the weekend. She was getting ready to do a matinee performance of Funny Girl on Broadway and wore a long-sleeved white top, cut-off denim jeans, white socks, and white slip-on sneakers. She also added sunglasses and had her shoulder-length hair down as she held her phone in one hand and a black tote bag over one shoulder.

Lea’s latest outing comes after she wowed at the 2023 Tony Awards. The talented star performed the closing number of the show by belting out the iconic song, “Don’t Rain On My Parade” from Funny Girl. Since she performed the tune several times during her time as Rachel Berry on the television series Glee, and still continues to perform it during every show of the play, she seemed very comfortable and confident during the epic moment on stage.

In addition to her showstopping performance, Lea made headlines at the Tonys when she reunited with her Glee costar Alex Newell. Alex made history at the event when they became the first non-binary performer to win a Tony. The win was for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Musical and Lea celebrated with them by posing for a smiling photo and congratulating them on Instagram.

“Congratulations @thealexnewell !!!! @thetonyawards,” Lea wrote alongside the photo. She was wearing her red Funny Girl costume, in the snapshot, and Alex wore a denim and pink look. Lea also sat behind Alex during the Tonys, so she was able to get a front row view when they got up to accept their impressive award.

Lea’s appearance at the Tonys comes after she debuted as Fanny Brice in Funny Girl in Sept. Since she took over the role from Beanie Feldstein, she wasn’t eligible to be nominated for a Tony award, but she’s still received rave reviews from the day of her opening show until now. She is set to remain with the Broadway production until Sept. 3.
