Lacey Chabert’s New Netflix Rom-Com ‘Hot Frosty’ Sneaks In Hilarious ‘Mean Girls’ Reference

Gone are the days of “Jingle Bell Rock…” or are they? Lacey Chabert’s upcoming Netflix holiday rom-com, Hot Frosty, references her Mean Girls past. In Hot Frosty, Chabert — who played Gretchen Weiner in the cult classic — watches a video of former co-star Lindsay Lohan in Lohan’s own 2022 holiday movie, Falling for Christmas, which also debuted on Netflix.

In a clip shared to TikTok by user mswatchmojo, Chabert stares at Lohan in Falling for Christmas on the screen and confusedly says, “That’s so funny. That looks just like a girl I went to high school with.”

As noted by Entertainment Weekly, the cute moment is also included at the end of the Hot Frosty official trailer.

Lohan starred as Cady Heron in Mean Girls, the new girl in town who quickly finds herself at the head of her high school’s most popular clique. Gretchen, already a member of the popular crew, is easily persuaded by Cady and turns against former ring leader Regina George (Rachel McAdams).

In Hot Frosty, Chabert’s character is just as gullible. She plays a widow named Kathy who brings a sexy snowman (Dustin Milligan) to life, only to have him melt right as they’re falling in love.

Lohan stars in a Netflix holiday movie as well this season. She will play Avery in the upcoming Our Little Secret, which co-stars another Mean Girls alum, Tim Meadows, who played Principal Duvall in the 2004 flick.

Hot Frosty will be released on Netflix Nov. 13, while Our Little Secret is coming Nov. 27.
