Kylie Kelce Weighs In on Harrison Butker’s Commencement Speech
Kylie Kelce knows that stressin’ and obsessin’ about somebody else is no fun.
After all, the 32-year-old—who shares daughters Wyatt, 4, Elliotte, 3, and Bennett, 16 months with husband Jason Kelce—recently responded to Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker‘s controversial commencement speech at Benedictine College.
“I think everyone is entitled to their own opinion,” Kylie explained in a June 13 interview with Cheddar. “I hope that if anyone does not align with those views in that graduating class, that they know that they have just achieved something.”
Harrison’s polarizing speech at the Catholic university, during which he encouraged young women to become homemakers, was immediately met with criticism, but Kylie encouraged the young women in the audience who did not align with the kicker’s views to simply block them out.
“Those women graduating in that class have just achieved something that no one can take away from them,” she continued. “Their education will stick with them for the rest of their lives. I hope they were appropriately celebrated if that was not their view.”
Of course, Kylie also acknowledged the young women who may, indeed, feel Harrison’s speech resonated with them, and encouraged them to follow their own paths.
