Knicks to check Immanuel Quickley after ankle sprain exit in Game 3 loss vs Heat
New York Knicks guard Immanuel Quickley is set to be evaluated by the club after an apparent ankle sprain in the Miami Heat’s Game 3 win of their second-round series on Saturday, Tom Thibodeau announced in his postgame availability.
Quickley collapsed to the floor after he collided with Bam Adebayo for a loose ball midway through the fourth frame of the match. He was announced unavailable to return following the play, finishing with 12 points on 4-of-12 shooting.
Per Stefan Bondy of New York Daily News, Quickley admitted that his ankle “hurts a lot” and he has no idea yet of his status heading to the series’ Game 4 on Monday.
After establishing a solid Sixth Man of the Year case for himself this season, Quickley has been struggling so far in this year’s playoffs, averaging just 8.5 points while shooting 35.2 percent from the field and 24.1 percent from three-point land.
