Behind the sizzling shooting of Klay Thompson, the Golden State Warriors destroyed the Los Angeles Lakers, 127-100, to tie up their series in Game 2 of the 2023 Western Conference Semis.

Thompson unleashed his flamethrower, going off for 30 points in an astounding 8-of-11 shooting from three-point arc to contribute to the team’s 21 total treys. Per ESPN Stats & Info, this marks the sixth time in his playoff career that he registered a 30-point game with 8+ threes – the most in league history.

Despite being foul troubled in the first-half, Stephen Curry scored 20 points on 7-of-12 field goals in 30 minutes. His 12 postseason assists on the Thursday win is his highest since the 2014 Playoffs, wherein he tallied 15 in a Game 3 defeat against the L.A. Clippers in their first-round encounter.

The Warriors already posted a significant margin as early as the second frame, posting a 67-56 halftime card. But in the third frame, the matchup became one-sided as they carved 43 points in courtesy of Thompson’s red-hot shooting.

LeBron James had 23 points and seven rebounds on a losing effort. Meanwhile, Anthony Davis, who had a historic 30-points, 23-board display in Game 1, struggled from the field and only ended up with a passive 11 points and seven boards in a 5-of-11 shooting.

The Lakers have won nine-straight games in Game 3s when the series is knotted at 1-1 – the longest in playoff history (h/t StatMuse). As such, this skid can only be determined if will get continued or halted as the series shifts to Los Angeles on Saturday.
