Kings could bring Sasha Vezenkov – report

Olympiacos forward Sasha Vezenkov has been rumored to be joining the Sacramento Kings this summer, according to recent reports. The Bulgarian international was drafted by the Brooklyn Nets in 2017 and had his rights traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers in a multi-team trade in 2021 before being traded again to the Kings in 2022.

Vezenkov has been in top form this season, winning the Alphonso Ford EuroLeague Top Scorer Trophy with an average of 17.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. He was also named to the All-EuroLeague First Team in 2022.

Kings head coach Mike Brown recently visited Greece to meet with Vezenkov, and was impressed with his skills on the court. “He shoots the 3-ball. He’s got size. He’s got toughness. He rebounds. All those things are exciting with the way we play the game of basketball,” said Brown. “We’ll let him finish the season out and then we’ll talk to him, but we’ve obviously been highly, highly intrigued with him.”

Vezenkov is currently preparing for his second straight EuroLeague Final Four, with Olympiacos finishing first in the regular season and eliminating Fenerbahce in five games in the playoffs. They will face Monaco in the semi-finals in the 2023 EuroLeague Final Four in Kaunas.
