Kevin Garnett on Victor Wembanyama: “He has the ‘it factor’ to lead a team”
The Victor Wembanyama spectacle has officially begun in the NBA, and in just five games, the 19-year-old center delivered a stunning 38-point performance against Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns.
Reflecting on the impact of the former Boulogne-Levallois Metropolitans 92 player, Kevin Garnett showered the French talent with high praise.
Recalling last year’s spectacular play in the LNB against AS Monaco, Garnett expressed his disbelief, stating, “When I saw him shooting the three and following up with that dunk, I couldn’t believe it. Ain’t seen that since Dominique [Wilkins].”
Garnett went on to draw comparisons between Wembanyama and legends like David Robinson and Tim Duncan.
Describing the ‘it factor,’ Garnett remarked, “When you saw David Robinson the first time, you saw it. You didn’t know what you were looking for, but you saw it. And then you saw Tim Duncan, same. He has the ‘it factor’. He’s a top-tier scorer, he got it to where he can lead a team.”
