Keenan Evans would consider the possibility of playing for Lithuania NT
It took eight months for Keenan Evans to bounce back from the Achilles injury he sustained in January.
Prior to the injury, he held the undisputed role of Zalgiris leader and was the most cherished player among the fans.
He maintained an average of 15.9 points (45.8% 3PT), 3.7 assists, 3.2 rebounds, and a 17.4 Player Impact Rating (PIR) per game.
Opting to remain for a second season in Kaunas, Evans disclosed that he did not engage in discussions with other teams.
“To be honest, I told my agent that I don’t really want to talk with other teams,” Evans told BasketNews’ Lukas Katilius. “I was focusing on being healthy again.
“Zalgiris showed me respect since my injury. I didn’t even want to think about moving to the other team, so I shut all the talks about it. I focused on rehab and coming back to the EuroLeague.”
Evans didn’t hold back when expressing his openness to don the Lithuania national team jersey.
The Zalgiris guard hinted that the idea of playing for Lithuania was something he would definitely consider.
“I’d 100% consider it. It would be a huge honor [to represent Lithuania],” he said.
