Kawhi Leonard still out for Clips, set to miss pivotal Game 5 vs Suns
Kawhi Leonard (knee) will not play in Game 5 of the L.A. Clippers’ first-round series against the Phoenix Suns on Monday, per Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN. Also, Paul George remains out as he continues his right knee sprain recovery.
Leonard has missed the last three games of the series because of his right knee sprain which has been showing a swollen sensation for the superstar. He aggravated it at the start of the series and is connected to his surgically repaired ACL.
The Clippers are down 3-1 for the continuation of the best-of-seven matchup. With Leonard set to be out once again, it appears that the club is frustratingly in deep water of unavailability once again as they still try to contend for a title.
With Leonard out while facing the Suns on their home turf, Los Angeles can only hope wonders from their role playing units and Russell Westbrook to still extend the series. Norm Powell is also expected to step up his game.
Leonard’s inactivity has been a major storyline and a disappointing one for the initial stage of this year’s NBA Playoffs, as he was tearing it up with 34.5 points, 6.5 boards, 2.0 steals in 54.5 percent shooting for the first two games of their series against Phoenix.
