Katie Holmes Puts a Modern Twist on the Big Pants Trend
Katie Holmes updated the big pants trend in the most Katie Holmes way possible.
The Rare Objects director stepped out in New York City yesterday wearing a pair of high-waist, wide-leg trousers in military green. The pants were additionally covered all over with shimmering gold sequins and what appear to be bleached paint splatters.
She cinched the pants at her waist with a mustard-green belt. For her top, the actor opted for a ribbed knit sweater in a slate-gray hue, which featured a V-neck, a collar, and billowing sleeves. She capped off the look with glittering yellow sandals, a black studded Isabel Marant purse, and bulbous gold drop earrings.
Holmes, who is currently in the midst of promoting Rare Objects, has had a fashion-filled press circuit over the last few weeks.
On Tuesday night, she attended a screening of the film in a crisp white pinstriped button-up from St. John’s pre-fall 2023 collection. She tucked the blouse into a light gray asymmetrical maxi skirt emblazoned with a distressed white decorative pattern. The skirt featured a mid-thigh cutout, which revealed another skirt—this time, a pleated white mini—underneath. Holmes coordinated the outfit with ivory square-toed ballet flats, a white shoulder bag, and mini silver hoop earrings.
Earlier this week, she attended another screening while wearing a silky black dress with a shimmering netted overlay partially embellished with scarlet red fringe, by Interior. She layered the statement piece with a sleek black jacket from Tove. She additionally wore sheer black tights, metallic strappy heels from Arielle Baron, a rose gold watch from Vacheron Constantin, long silver earrings, and a silver nose hoop.
