Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney had a message for the New York Giants and their fanbase after receiving his Super Bowl ring.

In his second year in the NFL, wide receiver Kadarius Toney is a Super Bowl champion. Toney played a role in the Kansas City Chiefs‘ second-half comeback to give them a 38-35 win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 57. Toney was a midseason addition by the Chiefs, as they gave up a third- and a six-round pick in 2023 to acquire him from the New York Giants.

On Tuesday, Toney made an appearance on IceBox’s YouTube channel, where he was in a jewelry store and was getting sized for his Chiefs Super Bowl ring. Toney looked at the camera and said, “This is for everybody in New York right here,” and he flashed his middle finger that had the Super Bowl ring sitting on it.

Let’s just say that Toney’s tenure with the Giants did not go as all had hoped. Toney was selected in the first round by the Giants out of Florida and was expected to play a pivotal role in the success of the offense. While he did show flashes in his rookie year, especially in his 10-reception, 189 receiving yards performance against the Dallas Cowboys, Toney dealt with a variety of injuries throughout his rookie season.

Entering 2022, there was a new regime entering after general manager Dave Gettleman “retired,” and head coach Joe Judge was fired. Entering were Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll. As is the case with any new regime, they have preferences on who they want on the roster. Toney barely played in his second season, as he dealt with a hamstring injury.

The fanbase did grill Toney for his inability to stay on the football field in his first two seasons with the team. Ultimately, the Giants decided to move on from Toney, despite their need for depth at the wide receiver position and dealt him to the Chiefs.

In his two seasons, Toney recorded 41 receptions for 420 yards on 60 targets, while running for 29 yards on five carries.

Toney arrived in Kansas City and is now a Super Bowl champion. In nine regular-season games, Toney caught 14-of-17 targets for 171 yards and two touchdowns, while running for 59 yards and one touchdown on five carries. In the big game, Toney returned a punt for 65 yards, a Super Bowl record, and caught a touchdown pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

The pairing of the Giants and Toney just didn’t work out. They traded him to the Chiefs, and he now has a Super Bowl ring on his finger. Well, when he’s in New York to face the Giants (not this year), that ring will be on his middle finger, apparently, and he doesn’t appear like he would be afraid to show it off.
