Big Brother sees everything — but the viewers don’t.
In an exclusive interview with The Post, JoJo Siwa shared details about an unaired fight she had with Mickey Rourke as he was being kicked off “Celebrity Big Brother” for making offensive comments about her sexuality last month.
“There was a lot more that happened than what you saw,” the “Dance Moms” alum, 21, said. “But again, that’s the world of reality TV editing, and it’s complicated and it’s much more than just you and your story.”
“One thing they didn’t air about Mickey… they actually aired the opposite,” Siwa explained. “So in the diary room, he said, ‘It wasn’t my intention. I didn’t want to do that.’ And then they did not air when he came out of the diary, he said to me — and this is what really upset me — ‘That was my intention. That’s why I did it, because I knew it would piss you off and I wanted to.’”
Siwa said she “questioned” the professional boxer, 72, in that moment about why he intentionally tried to “hurt” her.
In response, Rourke allegedly accused Siwa of “attacking” him, which prompted “Love Island” star Chris Hughes to defend the “Karma” singer.
“All this got cut out,” Siwa reiterated. “And that was the conversation that really upset me. The comment, I don’t care, right? The comment, we can work through that. But not wanting to have a conversation, that’s what really hurt me.”
“But then again I decided, ‘All right, I’m gonna make it my mission.’ Not to become friends with him, but I’m going to make it my mission to be a friend to him because he needs it,” she said. “He’s clearly hurt. There’s clearly something wrong. And so we got there.”
Siwa, whose new song “Bulletproof” comes out Friday, told The Post she thinks the show made the right decision ejecting Rourke.
“I think a lot of people argue that he should have gone earlier,” she stated. “I do agree with the producer’s decision. I genuinely don’t know if the producers chose to evict him or if he said, ‘I’m leaving.’ I don’t know how that went down.”
Siwa continued, “But I think that was the right time because I think sometimes you have to see somebody’s story through. And I think Mickey with me on day one… was that enough to get him evicted? Yes, absolutely. But if he would have, we wouldn’t have gotten to see those other sides and those other flavors. And we also wouldn’t of had as many laughs as we did. Like, he would’ve never gotten pranked as Billy. You know what I mean? There’s so many things that happened and so many good moments that happened with him that I wouldn’t trade for him to have been evicted after that comment.”
“And maybe I stand alone on that island,” Siwa noted, “but I think the journey is the journey for the reason. Yeah, he was hard to manage. But for me, his comments were easier to manage than him brushing his teeth in the kitchen sink. Him double dipping. That was harder for me to manage.”
“But yeah, when he did leave the house, it just felt like a cloud was lifted. It just didn’t feel stressful anymore. It felt really, really fun,” she added.
When “Big Brother” kicked Rourke out of the house, they told him his “language and behavior was threatening” and that the show wouldn’t tolerate it.
The “1941” actor said in the Diary Room that he was “ashamed” of his actions. He also apologized to Siwa, who graciously forgave him.
