Prior to signing with the Clippers, John Wall played just 40 games in the NBA over the the previous two seasons, including last year which he sat out entirely.

It seemed that the former number one draft pick has no place in the league. According to the 32-year-old point guard himself, veteran players are getting pushed out of the NBA and he felt like he was one the edge of that as well.

“I think it’s great and I think it’s frustrating for a lot of great vets in this league because a lot of those guys are being pushed out. I feel like I was on the edge of getting pushed out myself,” Wall said, per Landon Buford.

Wall gave examples of Kemba Walker, Carmelo Anthony and Dwight Howard as former stars that are being pushed out of the league.

“If I wasn’t a true professional last year and the Clippers didn’t give me a chance I don’t know if I would be in the league. We have so many guys like Carmelo Anthony and Dwight Howard I can go down the list.”

This season Wall is averaging 12.2 points, 2.5 rebounds and 4.9 assists in 22.1 minutes per game.
