The extended commitment that LeBron James finalized with the Los Angeles Lakers can’t make owner Jeanie Buss even more happy.

Buss told Sam Amick of The Athletic that it was a priority for the franchise to keep him, noting that she desires the future hall of famer to retire as a Laker.

“It is a big vote of confidence when LeBron James signs a two-year extension, when he had many months to do so (he had until June 30, 2023, to sign this deal). And you know, it was a priority to us. It’s a priority to the Laker brand that he retire a Laker.

Both James and the Lakers have reached on a two-year extension worth $97.1 million. The pact only shows the confidence on both sides to compete for more titles, as the path of NBA basketball continues to progress.

The deal might have given the club a sheer pressure to be competent, but it serves as a blessing in disguise to fully capitalize their time and this given opportunity with James still well-oiled to perform.
