In the Utah Jazz camp, all trades can be possible but with the exception of two of their most coveted players.

Sources told Marc Stein that there is a “rising belief” that the Jazz will be willing to listen to trade offers from rival teams, but won’t entertain talks around both Lauri Markkanen and Walker Kessler.

Both Markkanen and Kessler are new in town, but they already built a robust foundation and impression amongst Jazz fans.

Upon his arrival from Cleveland as a package to complete the Donovan Mitchell trade, Markkanen has savored his first season as a Jazzman. This 2022-23, he is averaging 24.8 points and 8.7 boards while shooting 52 percent from the field – already making such noise for potentially his first All-Star appearance while elevating his odds to become the Most Improved Player award recipient.

The rookie in Kessler has also enchanted the Utah faithful as a new breath of youth presence down low. Acquired from the blockbuster Rudy Gobert trade, the former Auburn star is registering 7.5 points, 7.2 boards, 2.0 blocks in 20.0 minutes of play – an already capable building block in the Jazz’s organization’s future plans.

With the Jazz shocking the entire NBA as they still remain in the competitive radar despite hurling a fire sale on their former cornerstones last offseason, change could be inevitable as they appear to make progress as the current eight-seed of the Western Conference. With plenty of assets they still have, chances are there to orchestrate plenty of moves ahead of the trade deadline.
