Jayson Tatum talks about his injuries after Celtics’ win over Nets

The Celtics held the Nets to just 16 points in the fourth quarter as they recorded their fifth straight win (109-98). Jayson Tatum led the winners in scoring with 20 points.

After the game he talked about the lingering injuries that are causing discomfort, saying that his desire to play triumphs that.

“If you look at my hand, I got tape on my wrist, tape on my thumb, I had to tape my middle finger and ring finger together,” Tatum said. “I got a lot going on. That play a part – lingering things. It was uncomfortable tonight.

“I love to play too much to sit out. Yeah I had some bad misses, but I’d rather be out there still trying to help my team win than not. It will be alright. I did airball like three or four times. It’s good when you can laugh it off. We still won, so it made the night better.”

Despite the uncomfortable injuries, Tatum is not thinking about sitting out games. At least not in the near future.

“That’s something me and Brad will fight about,” the 24-year-old small forward said when asked if he plans to sit out games to heal his injuries. “When it gets to that point, maybe you’ll see sit out, maybe not.”
