Jayden Daniels becoming popular mock for Giants
Mock draft season is heating up and when it comes to the New York Giants, there is no consensus. Most insiders and experts have their own theories about what general manager Joe Schoen will do and precious few match up.
In our last mock draft round-up, the Giants seemed to focus heavily on offensive linemen and receivers — both wideouts and tight ends.
That trend continued over the past week with one small exception: A specific quarterback has become a bit more prevalent.
Here’s a round-up of the most recent mock drafts and who they have the Giants selecting.

The Giants gave Daniel Jones a big contract extension, but even before his torn ACL, Jones had struggled to prove himself as a true franchise passer. If Daniels is still on the board, it wouldn’t be shocking to see New York cut its losses and start over at QB.

I know there will be plenty of “Why not a quarterback?” questions. Though I think a player like Jayden Daniels is possible, drafting a quarterback in the top 10 is an ownership decision — and we know Giants ownership loves Daniel Jones. GM Joe Schoen has been on the road this fall to see all of the top quarterbacks, but I’ll go with the QB-friendly target as the answer to the team’s passing woes.

The Giants are only tied to Daniel Jones from a financial perspective for one more season. If they are picking this high again in 2025, there’s a chance general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll aren’t making that selection.
The point I’m making is there should be some urgency to find an upgrade under center. Daniels’ electric running ability and vertical passing is a great fit with Daboll, who unlocked both of those aspects while working with Josh Allen a few years ago in Buffalo.

The Giants know how valuable Andrew Thomas is as their stalwart starting left tackle but now should be aware that 2022 first-rounder Evan Neal is a bust. They can’t afford to maintain that shaky blocking especially when Alt, a big, nimble, powerful anchor is sitting right there for them.

We’re already seeing Marvin Harrison Jr.’s draft stock drop a little bit with more people supporting guys like Rome Odunze and Keon Coleman, but New York’s fine with that. Whether you think Harrison is the best receiver or not, one thing’s for sure: the kid can ball.
The Giants already have a ton of potential in their receiver room, but it’s going to be tough to convince a fanbase that they don’t need a talent like Harrison. He has all of the tools necessary to be a great pro, and the Giants elevate the passing attack even if they don’t take a quarterback.
