Jasmine Thomas Out For the Rest of Season Due to Torn ACL
The Connecticut Sun announced on Tuesday that Jasmine Thomas would miss the 2022 Season due to a torn ACL she suffered on Sunday against the Indiana Fever.
Thomas, the captain of the Sun, will have reconstructive surgery on her knee. The team didn’t provide a timetable for the surgery or rehabilitation, per Connecticut.
“Of course, I’m sad that I won’t be able to continue playing on the court with this special team,” Thomas said in a release. “Everyone has been supportive and uplifting, and I’m just preparing mentally and emotionally to attack my recovery. I will continue to be a vocal leader and support my team from the sidelines. They’re incredible, and I’m excited about what they’re going to achieve.”
Reading this still doesn’t even feel like it’s me we’re talking about. Still processing that this is my reality. Appreciate the overwhelming support, kind words & well wishes. If I don’t reply individually, I see it, I feel it. Thank you. Be back soon 🙏🏾😤❤️ https://t.co/NsA0BPzOmK
