James Worthy after Lakers’ loss: “Key word is onslaught”
The Warriors trounced the Lakers in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals (127-100). The whole Golden State’s starting lineup finished with double-digit scoring. Klay Thompson (30 points) and Steph Curry (20 points) led the charge for the winners.
For Los Angeles two players scored at least 20 points, namely, LeBron James (23 points) and Rui Hachimura (21 points). After scoring 30 points and grabbing 23 rebounds in Game 1, Anthony Davis was limited to just 11 points in Game 2.
The Dubs won the second quarter by 18 points (41-23) and the third quarter by 19 points (43-24). They made 21 three-pointers against 10 by the Purple and Gold.
Lakers legend James Worthy shared his thoughts on the game. “Key word is onslaught…” Worthy said on Spectrum SportsNet. “Slightly different lineup for Golden State when they put [Draymond] Green in and started him.
“He started to hit some threes a little bit. That helped a little bit. Draymond Green onto AD early, a little physicality, took him out of his game.
“The Lakers were out there till they started hitting threes. Second quarter, third quarter it got hot. [Klay] Thompson, Steph [Curry], everybody… and they got a lot of 50-50 balls, a lot of second opportunities, a lot of looks at it.”
