J.K. Dobbins claps back hard at Ian Rapoport on Twitter

Ravens running back, J.K. Dobbins, claps back at Ian Rapoport on Twitter after reports that he was “no sure thing” for Week 1 of the 2022 season.

Less than a half hour after NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins was “no sure thing for Week 1,” Dobbins clapped back on Twitter:

Clearly Dobbins is tired of the speculation around his status. His guarantee to be “damn sure ready for Week 1,” after a knee injury kept him out of his entire sophomore season, is somewhat contradictory to Rapoport’s information, but what better source is there than the man himself?

In fairness to Rapoport, he made clear in his Monday morning report that Dobbins had not been facing any setbacks, and that his recovery was on track. The focal point he highlighted in his claim was that the Ravens personnel, to his understanding, had no intentions of rushing Dobbins back to the field.

The Ravens and their fans have much to look forward to if J.K. Dobbins can play a full season in 2022.

Baltimore took all of the necessary steps to ensure they would be able to play their brand of football to begin the season, with or without Dobbins or his backup Gus Edwards, who suffered a similar injury prior to the 2021 campaign. Veteran Mike Davis and rookie Tyler badie were added to the mix this offseason to help carry the load should Dobbins and/or Edwards miss time.

Dobbins chiming in to counter Rapoport’s claims should fire up Ravens fans for a number of reasons.

First of all, they clearly have a guy, in Dobbins, who is committed to his craft and is hungry to get back onto the field. The severity of his injury could have very possibly held him out, as Rapoport stated earlier, well into the 2022 regular season. Secondly, if Dobbins indeed is ready for competition on Week 1, it will be the relief from the injury bug—which plagued the Ravens last season—that fans are surely awaiting.

It is unlikely—knock on wood—the Ravens suffer as severely as they did last year from injuries this season, and the ground-and-pound offense that fans are accustomed to should be back on display. Apparently, with Dobbins leading the charge.
