Melissa Barrera is on her way to becoming a true scream queen with a new indie horror comedy, Your Monster, opening in theaters this weekend. It’s also Barrera’s first leading role since she was unceremoniously fired from the Scream franchise, after she called for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Written and directed by Caroline Lindy, and based on Linday’s 2019 short of the same name, Your Monster stars Barrera as Laura Franco, a young cancer patient recovering from a major surgery and a broken heart. While mourning her break-up and putting her life back together, she discovers a monster (played by Tommy Dewey) in her closet. And honestly? She could use the company.

If you want to support Barrera while watching a touching and funny horror-comedy, you should definitely go see Your Monster in a movie theater. That said, if you want to wait to watch the film at home, here’s what we know about where to watch Your Monster, and when we expect to see Your Monster on streaming.

For now, Your Monster will only be available to watch in a movie theater, when it opens in select theaters in the U.S. on Friday, October 25. You can find a showing near you via Fandango. Your Monster is not yet available to watch online or on streaming.

Is the Your Monster movie streaming on Netflix or Prime Video?

Your Monster is not streaming on Netflix or Prime Video right now. While it’s possible Your Monster may stream on Netflix someday, it won’t be until after the theatrical run and digital release of the movie. Your Monster is not a Netflix original—it’s a small, independent film being distributed by Vertical in the U.S.

You will be able to purchase Your Monster on Prime Video eventually, when the movie becomes available to buy and rent on digital, but you will not be able to stream Your Monster on Prime Video free with a Prime subscription, because it is not a Prime original movie. If you want to watch Your Monster movie at home, you’ll have to wait for the film to be available to buy or rent on digital platforms.

When will the Your Monster movie be on digital?

The Your Monster digital release date has not yet been announced. However, we can make an educated guess as to when we might see Your Monster on video-on-demand, based on the digital release of previous films from this studio, Vertical.

Another Vertical movie, Lee, was released in theaters on September 27, and was released on digital platforms on October 18, about three weeks after opening in theaters. If Your Monster follows a similar pattern, you might see Your Monster movie on video-on-demand around mid-November 2024.
