Here’s how much sex each generation has — and Gen Z’s shocking fantasy

Think Zoomers are having more sex than Boomers? Think again.

In honor of World Sexual Health Day, Indiana researchers have released a study comparing how much sex each generation is having each month — and Gen Z doesn’t score highly.

They found, among other raunchy revelations, that the youngsters are seriously lagging when it comes to getting frisky in the sack.

“Nearly half of Gen Z reported that they were single,” wrote Dr. Justin Lehmiller, a social psychologist and research fellow at The Kinsey Institute at Indiana University who helmed the randy report, the Daily Mail reported.

“Gen Z and Boomers exhibited nearly identical sexual frequencies, suggesting that both the youngest and oldest adults are having the least sex,” the researchers wrote. Getty Images/iStockphoto

The study, titled “The State of Dating: How Gen Z is Redefining Sexuality and Relationships” is based on data collected from over 3,310 users of the dating app, Feeld.

The participants, who hailed from 71 different countries and ranged in age from 18-75, were “surveyed about their sexual and relationship attitudes and behaviors, as well as their experience,” per the study.

“We sought to contrast the sexual and relationship identities, behaviors, and preferences
of some of the youngest and oldest Feeld Members,” researchers wrote. “

The survey found that both Generation X (those born roughly between 1965 and 1980) and millennials (1981-1996) had the highest boudoir score: Participants in these age groups reported getting jiggy with it an average of five times in the past month.

Meanwhile, both Baby Boomers (born between 1946-1964) and Zoomers (born between 1997-2012) tied for last place having made whoopie 3 times that month on average.

“Gen Z and Boomers exhibited nearly identical sexual frequencies, suggesting that both the youngest and oldest adults are having the least sex,” the researchers wrote.

Although, quantity is not everything as a recent study found that Zoomers were having the most fun when it came to the no-pants dance.

Interestingly, 50% of Gen Z participants reported that they were single, “compared to only one-fifth of Millennials, Gen X, and Boomers.”

Despite not being so prolific in the sack, Zoomers were the most adventurous, with half claiming they’d. discovered a new kink since joining Feeld. Meanwhile, 49 percent of Millennials, 39 percent of Gen X, and 33 percent of Boomers said they’d found a freaky kink that excited them.

Researchers provided two possible explanations for this phenomenon.

“One is simply that older adults have had more time to learn and discover what they enjoy about sex, so they may have already uncovered their kinks,” they wrote. “However, the other is that it also appears to be the case that younger adults today have a greater overall interest in kink than older adults, which may create greater openness to exploring and learning about one’s kinks.”

Equally paradoxical was the fact that Gen Z was nearly twice as likely to fantasize about monogamy than the older generations, per the study.

This didn’t seem to jive with modern characterizations of 20-somethings as polyamorous free spirits who deviate from romantic and sexual norms.

So why are solo-flying young adults the most likely to idealize monogamy while mid-life and older adults paradoxically prefer non-monogamy?

The researchers theorized that “older adults have simply had more practice with monogamy, and some may have found that it is not for them.

“Or they may have just found that after a long period of monogamy, they have a craving for sexual novelty and newness.”

To put it plainly, absence makes the heart grow fonder.

By contrast, Gen Zers romanticize monogamy because they are more likely to be single and not sexually active.

This paradoxically old-fashioned craving for true love is also perhaps because many Zoomers haven’t yet had a serious relationship with one person, per the study.
