Golden State Warriors forward Andre Iguodala had a successful surgery Monday to address his fractured left wrist. He will undergo a four-week recovery per team’s release.

Iguodala sustained the fracture last Mar. 13. Given the timetable provided by Golden State, he will be shutted down for the remainder of 2022-23 regular season and potentially in the initial parts of the postseason – should the defending champs qualify.

The veteran’s absence is truly devastating for the Warriors due to the fact that Andrew Wiggins remains unavailable because of personal reasons. Having a depleted depth at his wing options, Steve Kerr will continue to rely on Donte DiVincenzo, Jonathan Kuminga and newly-signed Anthony Lamb to produce.

Iguodala, 39, stands as one of the most beloved Warrior by the entire Bay Area fandom. He serves as a crucial part of the franchise’s continuing success after making his return to the team from last season.

Iguodala only managed to play eight games this season, averaging 2.1 points, 2.1 boards and 2.4 assists in over 14 minutes of play. He already announced that this 2022-23 would be his last, as he seriously thought of finally retiring last offseason but was ultimately convinced by Kerr and the franchise to return for another run.
