There hasn’t been a lot of positivity to grab hold of with this Giants team as they stagger into Sunday’s game against the Saints at MetLife Stadium, where they’re 0-6 this season and have been outscored an embarrassing 150-60.

Their “franchise’’ quarterback, Daniel Jones, was released two weeks ago. Their best offensive player, left tackle Andrew Thomas, is out for the season with a foot injury. Their best defensive player, defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence, was lost for the season after injuring his elbow last week. And Bobby Okereke, their linebacker and play caller on defense, is likely not going to play Sunday because of a back injury.

Jones, Thomas, Lawrence, Okereke are four of the team’s five captains, leaving the only captain healthy at the moment long snapper Casey Kreiter.

So yes, it’s been a long season at 2-10 with the team riding a seven-game losing streak and with five games still to play.
