Game-worn 1998 Finals shoes by Michael placed for auction, may hit up to $4MM

A pair of historic game-worn shoes by Michael Jordan in the 1998 NBA Finals was placed at auction and may petch from $2 million up to $4 million in amount.

Auction house Sotheby announced this week that they received a pair of Air Jordan 13s that were laced up by Jordan in Game 2 of the said Finals rematch against the Utah Jazz.

The shoes were signed and handed by Jordan to a ball boy following his dropping of 37 points to star the Bulls’ 93-88 victory over the Jazz to split the series heading to Windy City.

“Michael Jordan game-worn sports memorabilia has proven time and time again to be the most elite and coveted items on the market,” Sotheby top streetwear official Brahm Wachter said, per CNBC’s Jessica Golden.

Should it reach the estimated value, it will surpass the record posted of a pair of Air Ships worn by Jordan during his rookie season, which were sold for $1.472 million last 2021.

Jordan maintained his dominance against the Jazz, leading the Bulls for three more wins en route to their second title three-peat – cementing the basketball dynasty of Chicago in the 90s while ascending as the game’s greatest player.
