Former Packers QB has hilarious reaction to signing with 49ers (again)

Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Kurt Benkert has signed with the San Francisco 49ers once again, and he had the perfect reaction.

Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Kurt Benkert has signed with the San Francisco 49ers once again. This is nothing new for the Niners or for Benkert, so naturally, he shared the most hilarious reaction to Twitter.

The 49ers originally shared the news on their official Twitter and wrote, “The #49ers have signed QB Kurt Benkert and CB Ka’dar Hollman to the team’s practice squad. In order to make room on the practice squad, the team has released LB Buddy Johnson and K Sam Sloman.”

Benkert then quote-Tweeted it with a handshake emoji and a gif from The Simpsons of Grandpa Simpson walking into the room, circling it and then leaving.

He then replied to his own Tweet with, “For people asking I had a mini bye week last week.”

Roughly a week ago, Benkert was cut from the 49ers practice squad, so his days away were extremely short-lived.

The Niners have needed more security in their quarterbacks, so there’s no surprise that Benkert is back.

49ers could use more security at quarterback

Trey Lance was originally supposed to be the starter for San Francisco, but he unfortunately went down with a season-ending injury in Week 2. Jimmy Garoppolo has stepped up to take his place and luckily, he’s a seasoned vet as a quarterback.

Jimmy G given up some plays that have resulted in missed blocks and interceptions, and he’s been sacked seven times in just five games.

Given those downfalls and not many options for backup anymore, it’s smart that the 49ers re-invest in Benkert to help provide missing security for the team.
