Evan Fournier turned down Wizards’ 2-year contract offer to sign with Olympiacos
Evan Fournier recently rejected a 2-year contract offer from the Washington Wizards in favor of signing a 2+1-year deal with Olympiacos. The 31-year-old French guard opted to return to Europe instead of taking on a “mentoring role” with a young, rebuilding team in the NBA.
Fournier revealed his decision earlier this week, stating that he wasn’t interested in joining a “losing team” like the Wizards. He expressed a desire to “compete” and “enjoy playing basketball again,” which led him to choose the Greek powerhouse Olympiacos over Washington.
