Do the Jets and Packers play each other next year?
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers announced his intent to play for the New York Jets. Do the two teams face off against each other in 2023?
The Aaron Rodgers saga is almost over, but there was one huge step taken this week to get it even closer to conclusion. During an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Rodgers announced that, after weeks of deliberation, he intends to play for the New York Jets in 2023.
The Jets were the lone team that met with Rodgers prior to his decision. Now, all that is needed is for the Jets and Green Bay Packers to reach an agreement on a trade package.
With Rodgers bound to end up on the Jets eventually, fans may be wondering if the Packers and the AFC East team will face off in 2023. Let’s not forget, the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos opened up the 2022 season after the Russell Wilson trade. Can fans expect to see Rodgers face off against his former team in 2023?
Do the Jets and Packers play each other in 2023?
No, the Jets and Packers are not scheduled to play each this upcoming season.
New York and Green Bay just played against one another this past season. The Jets picked up the 27-10 victory over the Packers. In that game, Rodgers completed 26-of-41 pass attempts for 246 yards and one touchdown. Meanwhile, Jets rookie running back Breece Hall had himself a game, rushing for 116 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries.
In the 14 times both teams have met, the Jets have the most victories with nine.
So there you have it. Although it would have been must-see television watching Rodgers face off against the team that drafted him in 2005, it’s not going to happen next season, unless the meeting comes in the Super Bowl.
